Turn in Rough Drafts of 3 page short story of man, woman, orangutan.

Write - Detail a time that were treated unfairly, or were unjustly accused.  (3/4 page minimum).

Discuss stories of injustice.  Set up Rosa Parks, Civil Rights Era.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

Read “Rosa Parks” Autobiography p.85-100

Answer p.101 #1,3,4,8,10 + my 3 questions: 

1)What were the MIAs 3 demands?  Were the demands radical in your mind?  2) Name 2 actions whites took to break up the boycott.  3)How does boycotting work to make a business change its practices?

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Finish reading with time to do the assignment, and late work.  Discuss local racial discrimination of 50 years ago, KKK in the northwest.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Demonstrate the process of creating a rubric, and revising the drafts that we will be using tomorrow.  Played word game Balderdash.

Friday, Dec. 7

Create rubrics; see examples and discuss; begin revision.

Write - List 3 advantages of being much smarter or much more talented than you are.  What could some disadvantages be?  In what area would you most like to be more intelligent or talented?  (1/2 page minimum)

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Time given to finish reading and assignment from yesterday and/or makeup work.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Hand back Rough Draft of “Crossed Lines”.  Create Rubrics, using student examples.  Explain how the process will work for revising and grading.

 Friday, Dec. 7

Revise rough drafts.  Begin writing 2nd drafts.

Group meetings for mini-lessons in problem areas.
